Traffic cameras have arrived in Kragujevac (MAP).

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia has started the development of a traffic surveillance system in the territory of Kragujevac in recent months.

Therefore, after the installation of a large number of traffic cameras in Belgrade and Čačak in the past period, the largest city in Šumadija will be covered by a greater number of fixed and mobile CCTV cameras in the coming months. Their primary goal should be to increase the overall level of security for the citizens of Kragujevac, especially for direct participants in traffic.

Expectedly, the largest number of cameras will be used for enforcing traffic regulations, primarily related to speed, driving without lights, using a mobile phone while driving, not wearing a seatbelt, and respecting horizontal and vertical traffic signals in general.

In this regard, certain cameras will be able to recognize license plates in order to expedite the resolution of traffic-related incidents. However, it is unknown when the implementation of the video surveillance system will commence.

In previous months, 26 locations in the city have been registered where surveillance cameras have been installed, and it is realistic to expect an even larger number of cameras in the future.

The cameras have so far been placed above the busiest intersections in the city and near bus stops in Kragujevac. You can view their exact locations on the PlanPlus map below.
