Corridor 10 on the PlanPlus map

The segment of the international E75 motorway stretching over slightly more than 26 kilometers, between Grdelica and Vladicin Han, has finally been completed after six years and is expected to be opened to traffic on Saturday, 18th May.

By completing and opening the most challenging section of the highway, through the Grdelica Gorge, the southern branch of Corridor 10 will be fully connected, linking Serbia from Batrovci and Horgos to Preshevo, with a single motorway that, under optimal conditions, can be crossed in about 5 to 6 hours.

The newly constructed motorway section will pass through two modernly equipped tunnels - Manajle (with a length of 1,804 meters, the longest new tunnel in Serbia) and Predejane, and through two new interchanges, allowing entry and exit at Predejane and Vladicin Han, where new toll booths are expected to be installed soon. Given the occurrence of numerous large landslides in the Grdelica Gorge, which caused significant issues during construction, a significant portion of this section of Corridor 10 is protected by retaining walls and concrete support walls, spanning a total length of approximately 15 kilometers. In addition to the modern tunnels, the Vrla viaduct and tall bridges Vrla and Dzemen Do, along with around ten smaller bridges over the South Morava River, will make this section faster, more practical, and visually appealing for travelers.

However, on the motorway segment between Grdelica and Vladicin Han, rest areas are currently absent - there are no petrol stations, toilets, or places to refresh during the journey. Nevertheless, designated areas where such amenities could potentially be installed in the future have been planned. Until then, the Predejane Motel and Dzep Motel will continue to be the only points in the Grdelica Gorge where travelers can take a break from the road, accessible through the new Predejane interchange.
