Nikola Tesla Museum | Museums of Serbia

The Nikola Tesla Museum was established in 1952 and opened to the public three years later, in honor of the greatest Serbian scientist who is rightfully considered the ''inventor of the 20th century''. This unique scientific and cultural institution is the only place in the world that preserves Nikola Tesla's original legacy.

The museum is housed in the former home of Đorđe Genčić and is divided into two parts. One part contains models/exhibits of some of his greatest patents, such as the induction motor or Tesla coil, as well as experiments with X-rays and remote control, the discovery of radio and wireless signal and energy transmission, electric ignition for gasoline engines, and hundreds of other inventions in the fields of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, wireless, and laser control. The second part of the museum houses Nikola Tesla's personal belongings - over 160,000 original documents and manuscripts, around 2,000 books and photographs, as well as personal items like boots, suits, gloves, and more.

Expert demonstrators and guides will introduce you to Tesla's inventions and the permanent exhibition at the museum through a concise multimedia journey through Tesla's life, from his first encounter with science to the unimaginable scientific heights he reached during his lifetime.

The Nikola Tesla Museum also offers a virtual tour. It consists of four interactive stories that familiarize visitors with key moments in Tesla's creative work. Thanks to 3D technology, visitors have the opportunity to immerse themselves in one of these stories and become a part of it.

Museum tours are available in Serbian and English. Tours start at the beginning of each hour and last for 45 minutes (permanent exhibition) or 30 minutes (VR tour).

The price of a single ticket, which includes a guided tour, is 250 dinars, with a discount available for groups of 10 or more visitors (150 dinars). All students with an ISIC card are eligible for a discount, while children under 7 years old can visit the museum for free. The price for the VR tour is 500 dinars per tour (not per person).

The museum is open every day from Tuesday to Sunday, from 09:45 to 20:00. VR tours are available on Mondays, from 10:00 to 18:00, with prior reservation required.
