Working hours of institutions and establishments during a state of emergency

After a state of emergency was declared in Serbia to suppress the spread of the coronavirus, cities and municipalities have implemented measures that will be monitored by local authorities. During the state of emergency, the operation of all shopping malls, cafes, restaurants, kindergartens, schools, and beauty salons has been prohibited. Due to the imposed curfew from 5 PM to 5 AM the following day, significant changes have occurred in the working hours of many establishments and institutions throughout the capital.

The Serbian Postal Service (JP "Pošta Srbije") has organized its postal services as follows:

  • In post offices that operate throughout the day, working hours are organized from 9 AM to 2 PM on weekdays and Saturdays.
  • In post offices that also operate on Sundays, working hours are organized from 9 AM to 2 PM.
  • The main post office in Takovska 2, Belgrade operates from 9 AM to 2 PM on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Notary public offices in Serbia have shortened their working hours from 9 AM to 3 PM. They continue to adhere to the recommendations that were issued on March 17 when the certification of signatures, handwriting, and copies was suspended except in particularly urgent and justified situations.

In line with the current situation, Bex Express courier service operates on a modified schedule. Parcel reception via the call center is until 2 PM, and for additional information, the call center operates until 4 PM. Parcel reception is until 3 PM.

D Express courier service operates as usual, as does the AKS courier service. Due to mandatory disinfection measures, AKS service warehouses will not operate on Saturdays.

Mr. Potrčko will be open during the state of emergency from 7 AM to 5 PM, only on weekdays.

During the state of emergency, all catering facilities, cafes, and restaurants are closed to the public, but food delivery is possible. Kitchens of certain restaurants will operate while taking all prescribed hygiene measures in both food preparation and delivery.

All major supermarket chains in Serbia will have a unified working hours from 7 AM to 3 PM. Each store has implemented all necessary measures to protect employees and customers in the markets. Smaller stores will operate for an additional hour, until 4 PM.

List of shops that will be open on Sundays from 4 to 7 o'clock, where citizens over the age of 65 can supply themselves, can be viewed here.

Among bakeries, there are different working hours, but mostly all will be open from 7 or 8 o'clock until 14 or 15 o'clock.

Belgrade markets will now work three days a week - Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, from 8 to 15 o'clock. An exception is Palilulska Market, which is of a closed type, and it will be closed until further notice - except for the supermarket located within it.

Banks in the Serbian capital will further shorten their working hours. Some will be open from 9 to 15 o'clock, while others will start working an hour earlier.

  • Banka Intesa works from 9 to 14 o'clock on weekdays.
  • Komercijalna Banka will operate from 9 to 15 o'clock on weekdays during the state of emergency.
  • Raiffeisen Banka has temporarily changed the working hours of its branches from 8 to 15 o'clock.
  • All branches of NLB Banka work from 9 to 14 o'clock.

Health centers work from 8 to 15 o'clock.

Emergency pharmacies in Belgrade:

  • "Sveti Sava" at Nemanjina 2 (working hours from 7 to 15 o'clock)
  • "Prvi maj" at Kralja Milana 9 (open non-stop)
  • "Bogdan Vujošević" at Bulevar maršala Tolbuhina 30 (open non-stop)
  • "Zemun" at Glavna 34 (working hours from 7 to 15 o'clock)

Almost all private pharmacies will operate until 15 o'clock.

Veterinary clinics in Belgrade have shortened their working hours, and almost all of them operate from 10 to 15 o'clock.

JP "Parking servis", as well as all other city public utility companies, carry out their duties, while the Customer Service offices are closed to the public.

Garages and parking lots operate as usual, and parking control and collection are carried out. The Service for the Transfer of Improperly Parked Vehicles relocates vehicles to the Old Fairground.

In accordance with the state of emergency, petrol stations have changed their working hours. NIS Petrol and Gazprom petrol stations are open from 7 to 15 o'clock, while a total of 47 stations are open 24 hours a day for the supply of state organs, health and other public institutions, as well as legal and natural persons with special permits for movement during the curfew. NIS stated that production, delivery, and fuel sales are proceeding smoothly.

Serbian Orthodox Church temples will not be closed during the coronavirus pandemic and state of emergency, said the Serbian Patriarch Irinej.

Call centers in Belgrade municipalities for assisting the elderly will operate every day from 8 to 17 o'clock during the state of emergency due to the COVID-19 coronavirus. The Belgrade call center can be reached at 0800-110-011.
