Vehicle inspection according to stricter standards

MOT Vehicle Inspection from 5th July 2018 will be more stringent than before and will include a detailed inspection of the following vehicle components: brakes, suspension, headlights, engine capacity, chassis number, engine number, bodywork, legally required equipment in the vehicle, and the presence of a catalytic converter.

Vehicles with faulty braking and steering devices, obvious and extensive corrosion, visibly damaged and worn-out tires, malfunctioning lighting and signaling devices, and significantly cracked windshields will not pass the MOT inspection.

A new requirement is that visibly dirty and muddy vehicles, particularly those with unreadable chassis and engine numbers, will not be tolerated during the MOT inspection.

The new MOT inspection will also include photographic documentation of your vehicle.

Additionally, there will be a minimum duration for the MOT inspection, with passenger vehicles taking 30 minutes and commercial vehicles taking 45 minutes. Therefore, commercial entities providing vehicle inspection services will resort to appointments to avoid unnecessary congestion.

The prices of MOT inspections have not yet been adjusted, but they are expected to be slightly higher than before.
