Traffic surveillance in Čačak - locations of traffic cameras in the city (MAP)

The Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia recently started developing a video surveillance system within the territory of the city of Čačak.

Consequently, following the installation of a large number of traffic cameras in Belgrade, as described in this article, the largest city in Western Pomoravlje will be equipped with an increased number of fixed and mobile CCTV cameras in the coming months. The aim of these cameras is to enhance the overall safety of citizens, particularly those directly involved in traffic.

Therefore, the majority of the cameras will be used for monitoring compliance with traffic regulations, primarily related to speed limits, horizontal and vertical traffic signals.

In this regard, certain cameras will have the capability to recognize license plates in order to expedite the resolution of traffic-related incidents. However, the exact date for implementing the video surveillance system using this functionality is currently unknown.

Over the past few weeks, more than 60 cameras have been installed at 38 locations within the city. It is highly likely that this number will continue to grow in the future.

As expected, the cameras have been placed above the busiest roads and main intersections in Čačak. You can view their locations on the map below.
