Traditional features of this event include competitions in "shepherd's disciplines" such as stone throwing, tug of war, long jump, and high jump.

There is also a competition for the best raspberry cake and the best shepherd's breakfast, as well as a competition called "old singing in Serbian". The event also features the selection of the most beautiful shepherd couple and the most beautiful shepherdess.

An essential part of the event is the collective lunch under the tents, where roasted lamb is served, accompanied by the sounds of the trumpet for which Western Serbia is widely known.

As part of the event program, there are annual exhibitions, souvenir sales, entertainment activities for children, poetry and music evenings. Honorary guests of the event come from the sister municipality of Kosijeri in Montenegro.
