Festival "Karusel" in Čačak | Tourist Calendar of Serbia

Karusel is a festival of ambient and ethno music held in the largest city of Western Pomoravlje at the end of July and the beginning of August.

During the twenty-day festival, a series of concerts, photo exhibitions, and music workshops take place at three locations in Čačak: the House of Culture, Nadežda Petrović Art Gallery, and the courtyard of the National Museum.

The Karusel festival of ambient and ethno music has been held in Čačak since 2009. It originated from the desire to showcase the Čačak music scene and the original music of local musicians. Today, it attracts numerous artists from beyond Čačak and Serbia's borders, making it arguably the most significant urban festival from an artistic standpoint.

Ambient music entails a mix of various musical genres, blending the old and the new, traditional and modern, orchestrated performances, and improvisation. The festival emphasizes music and art as its primary focus, contrasting with the prevalent commercialization in music and art in general.

Therefore, it is a warm recommendation for all sincere enthusiasts of instrumental, ambient, and ethno music to attend the festival and enjoy the performances of domestic and international artists, photography exhibitions, and music workshops.

This year's edition of the "Karusel" festival is scheduled from July 22nd to August 8th, and you can find a detailed festival program here.
