Traffic Camera Locations in Pančevo (MAP)

Over the past two years, the increasing number of surveillance cameras in Belgrade, as well as in some other cities in Serbia, has caught the attention of many.

The development of the traffic surveillance system started back in late 2018, and to this day, there have been more than 1,500 fixed and mobile CCTV cameras recorded in Belgrade. During 2020, the same was observed in Čačak, Kragujevac, and recently in Pančevo.

The installation of such a large number of cameras aims to achieve a higher level of control and safety for all traffic participants, as well as the residents of Pančevo in general.

The majority of cameras are intended for enforcing traffic regulations, primarily regarding speed, driving without lights, mobile phone use while driving, failure to wear seat belts, and compliance with horizontal and vertical traffic signage.

Consequently, some cameras will recognize license plates to facilitate faster and easier resolution of contentious traffic situations, although the exact time for implementing the surveillance system is unknown.

Currently, only two cameras in the city are active, according to the Pančevo police. The first one is located at the intersection of Svetog Save and Vojvode Radomira Putnika streets (capturing violations of traffic lights and vehicle speed), and the second one is in Stevana Šupljikca Street, near the intersection with Milke Marković Street (capturing violations of speed limits). Allegedly, the remaining cameras are not yet operational.

In recent months, 31 locations with installed surveillance cameras have been identified in Pančevo, and based on experiences from other cities, there could be even more in the future.
